I have gotten puppies both at 12 weeks and younger (before I knew that it's not a good idea). I have found the longer they are with litter mates the best. 8 weeks would be my very min to get a pup. I have one that was let go at 7 weeks and she had the worst time with the change. Of course I am happy I got her that young as she was 90% unsocialized and had worms so badly that while sitting on the couch (warning - gross) she had them crawling out of her behind!!!
