I know I have read that puppies should stay with their mothers until they are 12 weeks of age. Is that just a general rule of thumb or a hard and fast rule. A local breeder was recommended to us, but she thinks her puppies are ready to go home at 8 weeks. Is that a red flag, or does it just depend on the size/health of the puppies? If so, please elaborate. I would love to hear any and all opinions.
