Foods make a difference. For instance, our dogs (some of them) were VERY gassy on any food made by Diamond, including Diamond Naturals, Premium Edge, Chicken Soup, TOTW, Solid Gold, Canidae, Wellness. Yes, Diamond makes the dry foods for several brands, even many brands that Diamond does not own.
One of the better foods I have found is Nature's Variety. My dogs have very little gas on this food and have done great on it. It is also an all life stages food so it works well for the puppies too. Our last 2 dogs have eaten Nature's Variety ever since we got them. We use mostly the Prairie formulas. The kibble is small and easy for the smaller dogs to eat also.
You can also try giving your dog(s) a spoonful of plain yogurt. That can help their digestive systems and reduce the gas some. That's what I did to get through the bags of the Diamond made foods. It did help. |
