Some dogs are more prone to gland issues than others....some can empty them their selves, other's need it done for them. What I will say is that I wouldn't wait and see. If anyone has seen an infected anal gland, let alone one that has burst; it's not pretty and not fund to treat.

Take the pup in to have the anal glands checked/expressed and at the same time you can have the vet instruct you in the proper way to check if expression is needed and how to express them.
