If your vet could not determine herself if something was stuck in your pup's throat and sent you to an ER, I honestly would find a better vet. The ER didn't sound like much help either.

Has your pup been neutered? Is he retaining baby teeth?

I have read of many different causes for jaw shaking, including dental problems (broken tooth), unexplained behavior when sniffing, and seizures. Shaking in general is often a sign of pain.

If your pup continues to shake, observe what else is going on, and go to another vet.
