Hi and Welcome to YT. It's great of you to take in this little dog. Do you plan to keep him if there is no microchip or no lost dog posted? I have a feeling he got out of someone's home if you say he's clean and friendly. You might want to post some notices saying you found a dog but I wouldn't give too much information because you never know what kind of nut would claim him. The vet will probably take blood tests and maybe xrays. I don't know. When we found Oliver the vet just checked out his eyes, nose throat and took him temperature but some vets are much more thorough. You have to find out if he had his vaccinations. Maybe find out how old he is.
