I trimmed both of mine until they were around 7 mos. When I would take them in for check ups the vet would clip their nails for me. I would always wait until your pup has had a Rabies vaccine before taking them in for their first groomer. Most groomer's require proof of vaccinations before they'll allow you to bring the pup in.
