I said that diazepam and derivatives are hard for dogs with MVD and/or shunt to handle as they are metabolized by the liver so I was wondering whether the use of Valium in all dogs might raise BAT results but I don't know the answer. 40 isn't that high if a shunt was suspected since shunts are usually over 100 postprandial (but even then, over 100 is not always a shunt as with my dog Daisy).
