I got my Scotty at age 3 mos. so he immediately got ears 1/3 trimmed, anal area and some other areas trimmed at his first bath. After that, I would trim him all over approx. every 60 - 90 days, trimming his ears, feet, toilet areas every week or so. My other dogs came at age 4 1/2 mos. and 9 mos. so they were trimmed in the same way. I have never had a reason to keep a dog in full coat so I trim pretty regularly.
