Cottage cheese is made with cow's milk, so why would you give them that when you can get goats milk and mix it. I have been told not to ever give cows milk to a puppy, but thats how I was told by my mentor/breeder/exhibitor. She has been in it for 35 years, and I have puppies off and on for 20 years and never done it jmo. Goats milk is easier on the puppies stomach. You can give cottage cheese to a whelping mom but not all can handle it, but its good for calcium but if you give the puppy diarrhea from the cows milk, then you risk dehydration. It also has to much sodium in it.
