Do all reputable breeders charge top dollar? I am curious about reputable breeders, and how much more money it is to spend on a puppy from one? I understand that a reputable breeder will often have better health gaurentees on their pups, and their health contracts are good. They also don't sell one of their babies just to anybody.
Is this where the higher costs coming from? When I first got Suzi I had know idea about reputable breeders and their practices. Now I am more familiar with it. I also think a repuatable breeder screens for genetic defects in their offspring, and are in it to better the breed. I am not one eho would want a very small yorkie, just a standard one, with all the basic colorings a yorkie will eventually have when older.
So is this the difference of a reputable breeder? And it really does matter , even though the cost of one of these yorkie pups could run you into the thousands?
Suzi is now what I believe was from a BYB . Fortunately she has stayed healthy. However, her colorings are a little off, and she is bigger then the average adult yorkie. But she displays all the yorkie traits, characteristics of a yorkie, and nobody has ever questioned her breed.
