Welcome to YT.

Where is he scratching? Did it start w/ pollen season in your area? Is he chewing/licking his paws?

A dog w/ allergies should be bathed 2x a week, then move down to 1x a week once symptoms improve.

Oatmeal shampoo can actually further inflame the skin of an allergy dog.

Please get him to the vet asap and have them do a quick skin scraping (to look for bacteria) as well as a culture (takes 10 days to check for yeast). The smell makes me think it could be yeast.

This kiddo needs Vet treatment, and also a prescription shampoo. Sprays and over-the-counter stuff shouldn't be used until you have a diagnosis. Med for allergy dogs would be Temaril P, Atopica, Steroids, or OTC anti-histamines.
