I'm also new to YT and am so glad you're post is getting replies. I've tried a couple of posts with this SAME problem with no luck. My oldest is a 2 yo 9 pound yorkie female that we've had since puppyhood. Our newest addition is a 16 week old female yorkie that weighs in at almost 9 pounds too, already! She's going to be a teapot for sure !
I feel so torn because Niki (the pup) is just being a puppy, wanting to play, be rough and jump around. Tiki(2 yo) isn't interested in her whatsoever...she tries to ignore Niki but that doesn't work. She's not an aggressive dog either so she doesn't play rough with Niki. Tiki has started yelping and barking at Niki now and most of the time it really upsets her, to the point where her bottom lip quivers and her body shakes...this lasts up to 30 seconds, after it's over she seems fine. She's also not the same "affectionate" little girl she once was. I don't see that gleam in her eyes that was there a couple of months ago.
I'm worried that these anxiety attack/ episodes expressed by the older gal are somehow harmful to her?
The thought of rehomeing Niki (pup) has crossed my mind, several times, but I'm trying my best to make this situation work out for both girls. Do I have a chance at making this work?....I don't know...would love to find out if someone in YT has experienced this same thing and know if their dogs finally liked each other???? I'll be watching to see...thanks
