Shelby has 3 puppies and is eating Beneful puppy chow. Can I get goat's milk at a regular supermarket, or do I need to go to a specialty store for it? I guess I'll wait a while to start feeding them solids, I just thought it was customary to start solids when they are around 4 weeks old, and with them interested in Shelby's food, that it was time. Shelby is still nursing them every 2-3 hours, but they always try to nurse whenever she is nearby, though she won't let them all the time, she'll stand up and shake them off, but will lay down and stretch out on her back and let them nurse when she's in the mood. Is it normal for them to constantly try to nurse? They're definitely getting enough milk, since they're still gaining weight and weigh in between 1lb 8 oz and 1 lb 10 oz. Will the puppies lose weight when they start getting more active (like babies do when they become mobile)? |
