She feels the dog has a better chance with her instead of the owner. She is doing what she can to help. The female is lucky to have her. I have had three litters and my mom dog always was able to do everything herself. ( I broke the bags). And yes she is spayed now. But all my pups have gotten wonderful homes and I get pictures and updates on how they are doing. Yes there are lots of horrible things that can happen but why not help her instead of being so negative. A vet on call is always a good thing. And yes always expect the worse but I think you are doing a great favor to this dog and wish you all the best luck. I love this site and believe there is tons of great information.
