This is such a great post!!! My hubby's parents are....different...to say the least! My family is very loving and we try to do things together all of the time. His family hardly ever tries to arrange visits, etc. with us. As a matter of fact, they have been known to visit family that only live 20 minutes away from us and NEVER call us!!!! BUT...when I do have to be around them, I just remember that if it were not for them, I wouldn't have my wonderful husband. So I smile, mind my manners, and remember that they are the reason that I have the sweetest, most wonderful man in the world!!!!
