I've done that too. Last house we had was on a reserve and backed up to water. We had pinkish colored rat snakes that would hang around our lanai and would scoop them up with the end of a broom and throw them into a neighbor's yard that I didn't like. Pretty dumb of me because they came right back. That was long before we had Scooter.
