Jett at 16 weeks weighed probably 1 pound 6-7ozs. He is now 25 weeks and just hit 2 pounds 3ozs. He is gaining about 1-1.5 ozs weekly on average. I have noticed the last couple of weeks he has only gained 1/2 oz or nothing. I know once they hit about 5-6 months they slow down on their growing (usually). He is a pretty tiny petite guy though.
Bella is a bit bigger and much 'sturdier' than Jett and is 4.5 pounds now at just over 1 year old. At 16 weeks my guess is she was probably 2 1/3 pounds or so. She gained 7 ozs in a months time after she turned a year old. She had stalled at just under 4 pounds in weight for about 5 months, then when she went into her first heat last week I weighed her, because she felt a bit heavier, and thats when I noticed she had put on almost half a pound!!! (I weigh once a month and last month she was 3 pounds 15 ozs. The month before she was 4 pounds even.) Last week 4 pounds 6 ozs. (Maybe retaining fluid?????? due to the heat??? LOL Highly unlikely but ya never know I guess.)
All babies grow at different rates........but mine seemed to gain about 1-2 ozs during that time too!!! |
