They have often voted for someone who's out maneuvered them, no one saying that you should play the game. Lying is fine in the game, but you need more than lying to have strategy. Decisions should be made on how much of a threat someone is, not because they "back talked" you. In fact, during speeches if you have never had any strategy, you can be sure the jury doesn't like it. The trick is to manipulate people without making them feel like they were stabbed in the back. Rob plays a very strategic game, and people would still give him votes if he gets it that far. As Alaska Yorkie pointed out, he may get over confident and save the idol too long. Some contestants go too far, and promise on their "children's lives" when they don't even have to, leaving people with a bitter taste in their mouths, and their vote goes elsewhere. In other words, make love to them, don't just screw them.
