I trained, well technically training, Gizmo just how I trained my Cairn Terriers. However, please keep in mind that they are smaller, and have a tendency to be a bit more stubborn. It'll take alot of patience, alot more I noticed for him then my other terriers. I used alot of jumping around and praising (for going potty outside, sitting, general training, etc.) instead of treats simply because we used treats for other things like hair brushing and going in the crate.
I think it's up to you, but remember that consistency seems to be key with this little dogs. Consistency and alot of patience. But, it'll pay off. We worked with Gizmo and were so consistent with him going potty outside, and now he rings the bell at 5 months. We don't trust him 100% by any means, but it's a working process. Good luck!
