Snakes like to hide, and they need warmth. So that snake is hiding somehwere where it is warm. Thankfully you were on it, and got your babies out of harms way. Because that snake if as big as you say it is, would easiely be able to get one of yur babies. Living in Florida, I am certain you already are aware of this.
That snake could even get up into your car engine, I would keep trying to get help. Perhaps call your county city , and ask for the number to the wildlife game control.
Until that snake is found and caught, I would not let my little dogs be outside alone . I hate snake too, yuck . |
Animal Control could should have just laughed i my face instead of not helping me. Apparently, it's fairly common for snakes to be around here. And, they couldn't find the number for me to call and told me to call the Sheriff's Office. I did, along with a number of other numbers. It's in the mid 80's today so that snake doesn't need to be hiding. I'm not sure how far he could have traveled by now. My boys are definitely not going outside alone.
