The Florida apartment situation was a nightmare, especially with my landlord living overseas. The complex and homeowner's association offered nothing so I went to the local news and was seen all over S. Florida.

This situation is a little different as the house is not infested. I read this morning that an early summer breeds more snakes. It's April and 88 degrees already. I never keep the kiddie pool out even more than 1 day, there are no dirt piles or wood chips and my backyard is completely empty. We saw this same kind of snake last year and we (well, not me) chopped it in 1/2 and disposed of it.

The snake is gone. I don't know where it is but don't see it anywhere.

I've read that Lowe's has a pet friendly repellent called Snake Away. I've also read that Marigolds are a natural repellent however, Swamp Marigolds are poisonous. I don't yet know the difference.

Here's the kicker. I now have to walk my dogs several times a day instead of just let them out back. oh yeah, THE STRAY DOG! Forgot about him. I was blowing that off because I don't want to call Animal Control. Luckily I didn't see him out and about. However, I just came home and spent 1/2 hour pulling burrs out of legs and bellies.
