Both of my grandfathers were M.D.s. I grew up thinking a Chiropractor must be some terrible thing because one lived across the street from Poppy and in a neighborhood where we visited everybody, we weren't allowed to speak to him or his wife.
I was converted when an adjustment to my mid-back with one of those spring-loaded pressure thingies instantly relieved crippling pain in my big toe. I still don't understand how it could have worked like that because I KNEW it wouldn't, but going from hobbling around with a cane to swing dancing in a few minutes' time was pretty convincing.
