Oh, that reminds me so much of a day long ago. A buddy and I were driving to school and a squirrel ran out in front of me. I didn't run over him but I heard him hit my wheel (I had a VW and he banged against the hubcap).
Well, I stopped and checked on him. He was laid out in the street, not moving. We couldn't leave him like that so decided to 'put him out of his misery'. I got my lug wrench out and we were arguing over who would do the deed. I don't think either one of us had the heart to do it because we stood there....standing over the squirrel...debating it for a couple of minutes. Before we could decide on who would do it, the squirrel got up and ran off!
He must have overheard us and thought, "Gee, I better get out of here. These guys are going to moidoilize me!!!
