Do you know what that T followed by other letters and some numbers is about? Is that their AKC registration number? Bella already has one of those according to her papers but hasn't been officially registered yet. Does AKC just issue "x" amount of papers with one of these numbers according to however many pups were had? I really appreciate all your help as I know you are a busy lady and this must get grueling after being asked such dumb questions.
Yep! That's her registration #. When a breeder registers a litter with AKC, the AKC sends back individual registration papers for the litter. Dependent on the litter, it's usually the same number with the last two numbers being 01, 02, 03....dependent on how many pups in the litter. I try to keep them in order on which was whelped first. So, when the pups go home I send the associated registration paper with the associated pup.....then it is up to the owner to register the pup in their name with the AKC.

There is also another numbers you may find with dogs within the pedigre... MicroChip #......also the date they were entered into the stud book.

Don't ever hesitate to ask questions.......I may not get to you, but there are others that will......
