You see, I just thought about going ahead and sending my girl's papers in and saw this and thought, hmmm that's interesting. Before I came to YT I as so many, knew NOTHING about BYB'ers. Now that I have all of this useful info and seeing that her sire was DNA'd I feel as though she may have come from a mill. I mean her breeder said he just breeds his pet Yorkies, but I am just beginning to think he is using these/this particular dog ALOT for breeding. I am ashamed of having purchased my baby girl this way, but didn't know better at the time. I am just nauseated over all of this. The bright side is that so far, she is healthy and happy..Oh, and I have learned a TON since and WILL NEVER go about getting a pup this way anymore! Thank you ladies again!
I think you're a bit confused. Most reputable breeders DNA there dogs. It is away of compling with AKC shoud they ever come in and question the parentage of a litter......I know I automatically have it done for my dogs..as soon as I realize they are going to be shown......I've had dogs that I've only used for stud once other's 4, 5 or 6 times. There are top dogs that have sired over 60 Champions. They've been used for stud because of their desired traits and their ability to produce gorgeous dogs....

If a dog is used more that 7 times in a lifetime it is a requirement.
