I have seen after care of dogs having them removed, it's painful, you have to bandage them, keep it clean, change the bandage..etc.etc . I wouldn't worry about the dew claw on Buster, just keep the nail always trimmed. Also when he is under that is a good time to get a really good short nail trim!!
