I've heard horror stories around here of $700 for a cleaning. At our last visit, Lucy's teeth looked good (I'm guilty of not brushing); so the vet recommended Oravet. This is a waxy-like substance you put on their teeth to prevent plaque. She HATED IT and wasn't herself for 2 days! I think she hated that waxy feeling on her teeth. Vet said it was made for humans but they didn't like it either . . . so marketed it for dogs.
I think I'm going to have to try brushing. I don't want to put that stuff on her any more.
