I'm not disagreeing with you, but one could say the opposite too... what are the long term consequences of feeding such low protein foods? There was a study recently that showed older dogs actually do better on higher protein. I'll have to find the link. I'm just playing devil's advocate here... and basically saying that too low protein can also be a "bad" thing but neither side is truly proven one way or the other.
