Out of the 5 pets in our house, the only one my dh wanted was the Akita. He didn't want my beagle when we first moved in together but I said "hey I had her before you so deal with it lol". With the 2 cats I did what a few others said - ask for forgiveness instead of permission lol and now he told me the other day that our orange tabby his "his" cat, not mine lol. My Yorkie, it took me two days of begging and cajoling, but in the end he said "You're gonna do whatever you want to anyway so I'm not saying anything about it anymore" - that was permission enough for me
He does like Alice now, he even proudly waked into his mother's house yesterday carrying her and introduced her as "our new baby"
