also, if you're familiar with facebook, it's similar to facebook in the way that you update your "status" and it is shared with all your friends who "follow" you.

To follow someone, you can click "follow" and then you receive all of their 'tweets' or status updates on your twitter home page.

Also, if you want others to follow you, you can give them your username, and they can search you and "follow" you. AKA receive all of your tweets!

Hope that helped a little! I don't tweet much but I've used it a couple of times.
