I let my boys chew until there is about 2-3" left. I fear they can choke on them if they get too small. I buy the 12" so they really do last a long time. As with any edible chew, your dog should be monitored. |
Yes, I forgot to add, when they get down to about 2", I throw them out, as he doesn't care about them anymore anyways by that point and I, too, worry about choking when they are that small. I got the "thick" 6 inch'ers and they seem to last him a while! Lately he's been going through one 6" stick every 5-7 days. The thick ones are lasting us substantially longer than the 'regular' did.
I'm glad you were happy with them too! I really loved their service and I feel their prices are VERY fair. I was paying sometimes up to $4 per 6" stick at the pet store before so it's a HUGE difference. I've been buying them in bulk (of 25 or 50) so they last us for a looonggg time.
