Recovery time varies on a case by case basis. If the vet is just doing a cystotomy (only making an incision in the bladder to remove stones), then the recovery will be less time then if he needs to make an incision along the urethral wall as well (if a stone is stuck in the urethra and cannot be flushed back into the bladder). There are other problems that can arise as well as other types of procedures that may need to be performed depending on what is wrong with your pet.

Sutures are typically removed 10-14 days after surgery. The type of suture depends on the vet's preference and surgery type/location.
