Conjuctivitis after going to the groomer So, we took Kozmo to get a trim Friday. We always use the same chain, but this time we tred the same chain in a different city. When we picked him up he was sneezing like crazy and started pawing at his face and rubbing around on my chest. I thought it was because of all the loose hair still on him. When we got to the car his right eye was closed and he couldn't open it. We thought he had gotten a hair in it, so when we got home I tried to examine it and flush it. Nothing. We then noticed his skin was like a hot pink color and irritated. Both of his eyes started squinting and watering. He was still trying to paw at his face. We gave him a bath and called our vet who said he was probably having a reaction to the cologne they sprayed on him. We had to give him Benadryl and put Neosporin in it which was a temporary fix until the next morning. When we took him in our vet said he has conjuctivitis and is now on an eye drop and antibiotic. The groomer said they had sprayed an organic cherry cologne on him when we called. We strongly believe they got it in his eyes cause the top of his head was clearly pink. Has this happened to anyone else after a grooming visit? I guess I could just be an overprotective mommy, but I'm not happy in the least that they got cologne spray in my little man's eye and now he's miserable. He was perfectly fine before he went to the groomer. This has never happened at the other Pet Smart we use and we've been there tons of times.
