Alright, I can offer you my advice and what I know. 1) CKC registered dogs don't HAVE to be chipped. I don't think there is any kennel club that requires this. If she claims to be a CKC breeder, ask ahead of time for the registered litter number and numbers for the parents. Call the CKC to verify the information BEFORE even meeting her. If she is truly legit, she shouldn't object to this at all...if she does, big warning sign. I question the fact that she doesn't want you coming to the home, despite claims that it is being renovated. Sounds like she is trying to hide something bigger that a house being redone. Also, it is very important to see the parents and where the pup has been raised, IMO. If the dog is already 8 mo old and has been raised in a less-than-desirable home, or abused, God forbid, it may have some serious problems you need to be aware of.
