This hasn't been proved to be true. In fact, I believe it may have been disproven. Claiming that kibble cleans a dogs teeth is like saying a pretzel or a cracker cleans a humans teeth. Daily toothbrushing and maintenance will help teeth -- canned food vs. dry doesn't make much of a difference.
