Jim ...she sounds truly wonderful - you must really miss her. We just don't have them long enough in our lives do we ?
I really believe you are hearing her little 'thump' - I actually believe they are always with us - when we lose one of our loved pets who are entrusted to us for their whole life - they do not leave us in death. They are still there and you just really may be hearing your precious Maggie - it's her little way of saying..."It's ok Dad - I'm still watching out for you even though you can't see me....."
