Agreed - Ladymom & Mardelin are right, bands are definitely safer! That being said, it can be a challenge to use the tiny bands on the back of the bows. You may want to consider a band insertion tool (which helps to stretch the band so you don't have to try to get your fingers in that tiny opening). For my customers who want barrettes or clips, I always advise them of the pros/cons and possible choking dangers. Although my barrettes are the safest barrettes/clips I can find (nickel plated & tested to be lead free), I still recommend you monitor your little one(s) if they have a barrette on. Consider your yorkie's temperament too - will they try to get the bow out & chew on it? While beauty is important - safety comes first.
