I have a family of 4 raccoons that always seem to want to come in my back yard and tear my garbage apart.I started putting bungee cords on the lids so they can't get in,so far,it has worked!But,let me just say,they are vicious and not afraid of anything,I have gone outside and yelled,and even threw things at them,but they just look at me and go back to eating the garbage!If I keep at it,they eventually leave,but not until they climb into the trees and make some really weird noises!Luckily,the bungee cord thing works,although,they never go into my recycling can,it's usually only the cans with the garbage in it.Raccoons are vicious and i have been told,very rabid,they will tear a yorkie to shreds,so be careful!I don't know much about possums,but,their probably not much better.I just saw an ad for this on tv,I was thinking about giving it a try....
