I can tell you from experience that Brittanys are WONDERFUL dogs. I have one, she is now 13 years old. If my back could handle it, I would get another one. Brittanys are awsome with children and other animals. They are so extremely trainalbe as well.
Rotts are great dogs too. My friend in KC breeds them and most of them I have known since they were pups. If they are raised right, they are just terrific loving loyal cuddly dogs.
Bulldogs are a lot of work. There is a LOT of slobber mess to clean, and all the folds in it's face must be cleaned at least twice a day. Their snore is louder than my husband's.
Boxers - one word for them - AWSOME!!
Labs are sweet, highly trainable, great with children and other animals (the latter if they are raised with them). However, they are generally very hyper and just love to chase things. Not neccessarily to kill it, but for the love of the chase.
I read up on Schipperkes because we actually had one at our rescue out here up for adoption. Apparently, if you are not getting a Yorkie for a small dog, they are just as good.
As far as my current experience, right now I have two dogs - my Yorkie and my Brittany. The two are the best of friends and the best dogs in the world. I wouldn't trade either one for any amount of money.
Good luck on your search. |
