Try thinking about this from your dog's point of view...she's been in a crate since 5 1/2 weeks old, she's in there all day and all night so it's what she's use to. If you want to break her from going into it when your home so she'll play more then just simply put the crate up or get down to her level and do some playing with her so she wants to stay out. I'm sorry that you feel it necessary to discipline her the way you are. Please know that we all say this because we've learned that Positive Reinforcement and Redirecting their attention makes a much better pet as it's a happy pet who wants to play and please you, not a fearful pet. I hope you'll reconsider your actions. We're here to help you and your baby.
