Crate problems I have a one year old Yorkie. I've had her since she was 5 and a half weeks old and she has been crate trained since then. She is crated during the day while I'm at work and during the night while we are sleeping. The problem I'm having is when I'm at home on the weeknends or after work and I let her out of her crate. If I don't "put it up" and she can she wants in it. She will constantly stay in it all the time. She just lays in there, but if I close the door on it, she barks until its opened back up. The same way at night. She will bark for about the first 5 mins every night and then hush. The same way during the day when I'm leaving she goes in there no problem, but if I close the door she barks. Is there some way in stopping this. I've tried whooping her - it doesn't work. If I put the crate up every afternoon and she doesn't see where I put it she will play and act like nothing is wrong, but if she sees where I put it she will literally whine for hours on in.
Is this a behavorial issue with Yorkies?? I'm consistent with her. She has only started this for the past 6 months, before she has never really cared. |
