Definately take your time and ask all the right questions! I think it is great that you are considering a rescue baby. Maybe the address given above will help with that! Yorkies are an amazing breed but there are also a lot of things to consider when picking one to add to your family. To make sure it is the best fit for you & the pup, find a breeder or rescue that you can trust. One that will answer ALL of your questions without hesitation, will provide you with health & breeding history and provides you with a good health contract (in the case of a sale).

You might check with YTCA.org -- there is a breeder referral page there that will show breeders in your state. Some may ask more than you would normally like to pay, but you will get a GREAT health guarantee, know that your pup is well-bred and free from genetic and acquired conditions. Saves money in the long run, knowing you are starting with a healthy, well bred dog!

All puppies look adorable but some do not even grow up to look like the yorkie we all have in mind when we pick out a pup. So, pick a breeder first and then look at their puppies!
