I would start with a soft bristle brush (I use a cat brush) just to get them use to being touched and handled. Groom a couples of times a week will help.

Might want to think about a good quality puppy food. No free feeding ( I learned that the hard way) Stick to scheduled feedings, not sure on portions. Check the packaging or ask your vet.

Now for mental stability... Please do not talk baby talk to you Yorkie ! In my opinion that does nothing for the dog. It hinders training and is just plain annoying. It is only for the benefit of the human. (I hope that I didn't hurt any feeling in the YT community) But you did ask.
