They can not be left alone at any time during her heat for any amount of time. Please be very careful. Keep her in her cage most of the time. Put them out separately and walk them separately. Male dogs are very cleaver and persistent during this time and can tie in no time at all. Be especially careful around day 10 - 15 of her heat. That is when she will be acceptable to the male and can become pregnant.

Belly bands are a good idea for times when they may be together for short period of time but should still be under constant supervision.
