You might consider temperature and humidity as I must.
Where I live "things" can get VERY yucky because of that.

Our temperatures and humidity are high here, and I am just
compelled to bag them tightly, and slip them into a out of
the way place in the Refrigerator.

Actually, I have several bags of Treats and their main food
in there too. My guys are small, and I buy "economy" sizes
for the cost savings. So, the stuffs are around for a while.
