I haven't used it yet, I need to ask my vet. Peek a Boo has been on Torbutrol as needed, but I am interested in using something a bit cheaper and maybe non-narcotic.
Other meds I've seen prescribed are:
Tussigon, Hycodan 02 Hydrocodone Bitartrate (Hycodan, Tussigon, Mycodone) - VeterinaryPartner.com - a VIN company!, and
Lomotil 02 Diphenoxylate Hydrochloride (Lomotil, Lonox, Lomanate) - VeterinaryPartner.com - a VIN company!
(although cough suppression is not mentioned in the above link ... it can be found in Kirk's Veterinary Therapy Book)
Robitussin is a brand, there's probably generic out there, just compare the ingredients, esp. the sweetners and amount of active ingredients, amount of alcohol, better yet, ask the vet if it's okay to substitute other similar brands.
