Default How do I stop my new adult yorkie from biting?

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum. About 2 months ago, my husband and I adopted a 2 yr. old female yorkie named Lucky from a humane society. She has made a lot of progress with us and we adore her, but we are having several problems with her. The biggest problem is that she bites A LOT! She is extremely friendly and vivacious and I believe that she does it more out of happiness and exitement than anything. If we say "no" firmly, she gets more excited and the bites get more frequent and harder. Shaker cans work well as short term deterrents, but it is not practical to carry them with us everywhere. I have found several web sites detailing how to stop puppies from mouthing and biting, but I have not found anything on how to stop these habits in adult dogs. Does anyone have any suggestions?
