Wow, that is scary.
I don't use the CET chews, but we do use Petrodex Dental chews and I always buy the large ones for large breeds so they just chew on them and can't swallow any. I watch them always with them ( its mostly my little guy that likes them), and if they get soft enough to start pulling some off, I take it away. I had a scare with my male when he was younger and I was giving him the small ones for little breeds
, he got a large wad of it stuck part way in his throat, luckily I was able to pull it out because it happened right in front of me, that's why I started getting the large and extra large ones.
