The student assigned to his case just called with an update. They are really good about giving updates. She said he didn't do too well when I left. He is super attached to me...and me to him! She said she got him out and has been holding him most of the afternoon and will do so as much as she can the rest of the night. That made me feel good. I almost asked if that was possible, but I didn't because I figured it wouldn't be. See, God is good even in bad times. He answers our hearts prayers.
She said she'll call again tonight and in the morning. He is scheduled first for surgery at 9 am. If all goes well he might be able to come home Friday afternoon. |
Oh, Bitsy! I hate to hear that he has to have surgery. I was so hoping, like you, that he wouldn't. You have him in the best possible place he could ever be for the surgery, so that should give you some peace of mind. It sounds like they are going to baby him, too. I know you're heartbroken, but he'll be better in time. You're not robbing him of his puppyhood. He has plenty of it left. You're wondering now how you'll get through all of this, but you will do just fine and so will Peyton. I know you're both very attached to one another. I understand. I'll keep you both in my prayers.
